This week’s app of the week is Cogi – Notes & Voice Recorder, a note-taking, call recorder, transcription and productivity app for Android. According to the description found in its Google Play page “Cogi is an easy-to-use, free and ad-free note taking and voice recording app that allows you to capture the important parts of meetings, lectures and conversations, all while remaining completing engaged, listening to what’s being said. APP OF THE WEEK – IFTTT

If this then that (IFTTT) is one of the most amazing services and apps out there (yes, I am very biased about it because it is indispensable for my life) where you create connections or recipes between all accounts you have. According to its website, you use Channels  (Facebook, Evernote, Email, Calendar) with Triggers (the “this” of the title – such as “I’m tagged in a photo on Facebook) and Actions (the “that” – which can be “send me a text” or “save it to a dropbox folder”). Swipes is a free Mailbox-like app that integrates with Evernote and is a great task management app. The integration with Evernote allows for users to attach Evernote notes to tasks and checkbox items from Evernote can be added as action steps within the Swipes app. To download it for the iPhone for free click HERE. Snapseed is a great and simple app that allows users to do a lot of photo editing from their iPhones, iPads and Android devices. The app is free and it is very simple to use. TouchCast is a wonderful free app for iPads and desktop that allows you to create videos and embed all kinds of features in it: twitter feeds, other videos, embed web pages, drawings. whiteboards, transparent white boards, and many more. The really unique feature that maximizes the potential of tablets is that the viewer can click on those embedded features and explore more of them while the recording gets minimized into their screen. Word Lens is a wonderful and NOW FREE app that uses augmented reality to live translate text in different languages. Scanner Pro is a $6.99 app by Readdle and it is one of the best scanning apps for iPhones and iPads out there. It allows you to turn your iPhone and iPad into a portable scanner and scan documents, pictures, and receipts into PDFs then save them, email them, or upload them into dropbox or evernote.
