App of the Week – Swivl

This week’s app of the week is the Swivl app. Early this week we featured a review of the most recent CETL purchase, which was the Swivl device. It is a device that when paired with users’ iPads, iPhones, and iPod touches allows them to record lectures and slides while the device moves 360 along with the presenter. The app itself is free. This week’s app of the week is the Storehouse app. Storehouse is a free visual storytelling app for iOS that allows you to create stories using a combination of images, videos, and written narrative. Once you are done creating your story you can share it through the app or through your social media accounts. App of the week – WritePad

Writepad is an app for iOS and Android that allows you to take handwritten notes in your tablet, which are then recognized with a handwriting recognition software to typed letters. App of the Week – Credly

This week’s app of week is Credly. Credly is a free service for awarding and displaying digital badges and accomplishments, which the CETL is using to issue its new professional development badges. While you don’t need the Credly app to accept your badges earned (you can accept badges via email with the email address you have used to create your Credly account), this app allows you conveniently keep track of the badges you have earned, give credit, and share badges from your mobile device. The app of the week is Wattpad. Wattpad is a free service that allows users to be part of a community where they can post poems, articles, stories while also commenting and joining community groups form the topics they are interested in. The app of the week this week is Evernote. It is an excellent free app that helps you stay organize and allows you to save your ideas between all your devices. You can create notes, set reminders, to-do lists. More importantly, it syncs with a lot of other apps such as the previously featured Skitch, Swipes, Squarespace Note, Scanner Pro, and others. App of the Week – Cogi – Notes & Voice Recorder

This week’s app of the week is Cogi – Notes & Voice Recorder, a note-taking, call recorder, transcription and productivity app for Android. Swipes is a free Mailbox-like app that integrates with Evernote and is a great task management app. The integration with Evernote allows for users to attach Evernote notes to tasks and checkbox items from Evernote can be added as action steps within the Swipes app. To download it for the iPhone for free click HERE.
