The app of the week this week is a little simpler than the ones that we have been featuring here. However, it is a great, and free, classroom management tool that is worth having. This is a very simple app designed to help teachers pick students in class. You input your roster into the app and you can select students on a turn base or random base. Book Creator is an app for iPads that allows its users to create beautiful iBooks straight from their device. You can input images, videos, audio and text and from there you can export your electronic book directly into iBooks or other book reader applications. There is a free version of the app that allows you to create one e-book at a time and has some advertisements or you can purchase the full version at $4.99. Remind 101 app is a free app for iPhone and iPad that allows you with a safe way to send text messages to students. You do not need this app to use the remind 101 services. You can use it from your desktop devices as well by creating and account at their website: https://www.remind101.com. Students “sign in” to your course by texting an unique course number and after you have the ability to contact them via text message without sharing your personal number nor getting their personal number.
