This Week at the CETL – 05.20.13

We’re enjoying a quiet week of planning here at the CETL after last week’s Summer Institute. Thanks to everyone who attended and presented! We’re putting the materials (handouts and the like) from the Summer Institute up on the blog, so check there if you missed something. There were lots of great presentations. We’ll be rolling out our summer schedule of workshops later this week, featuring Workshop Wednesdays! Many of you indicated Wednesdays were the best day to hold summer workshops, so we’ll be featuring two workshops every Wednesday in June and July. Workshops will be happening on other days as well, so don’t worry if Wednesdays aren’t the best for […]

It kicks off at 9:00 AM in the CETL lab with check in and coffee. See everyone there! Nakia Pope, Ph.D. Director, CETL and QEP

This Week at the CETL – 04.30.13

It’s finals time, so we know everyone is busy. Our workshop schedule is light, because we know everyone is giving exams and grading. But we do have three great ones this week. Discuss emerging trends and technologies with Addy at “The Technology Horizon”? today, hook up with the folks from browser lockdown software Respondus at a webinar on Wednesday, and let Lisa show you how to better manage your grades in Blackboard on Thursday. Mark your calendars now for the CETL Summer Institute on May 15th! We’ll have a whole day of workshops, conversations, and demos available. If you have an innovative classroom practice you’d like to share, let us […]

This Week at the CETL – 04.15.13

I am sure everyone is justifiably focused on the SACSCOC visit – you do know about the QEP, right? – but work and workshops in the CETL continue apace. We’ve got four on tap this week. First, a WordPress workshop on Wednesday the 17th. WordPress is a blogging platform that can be used for so much more; it’s how we built the CETL website! You may also join us on Wednesday for an interesting and informative session on types of technology and how they may be used to solve common classroom problems. We also have plenty of Blackboard training available, with a session on using Blackboard in your face-to-face class […]

This Week at the CETL – 04.01.13

I hope everyone had a great Easter break. It’s a busy time of the semester! Advising is happening, finals aren’t too far away, and SACS is coming. Like the rest of campus, we at the CETL are gearing up for the SACS visit and thinking about the QEP. We’ve still got some great workshops planned, however. Check out the list in the sidebar. Click on any one of those events to register. And, as you can see, we’re planning for our CETL Summer Institute on May 15th. We’re developing a series of workshops that focus on student engagement, so mark your calendars and make plans to attend. Don’t forget to […]
